According to Lessing, “The object of art is pleasure” - a motto which our hotel could justifiably adopt as its own. And we’re certainly not just talking about the gastronomic arts...

The Romantik Seehotel Sonne displays paintings and sculptures from such notable Swiss artists as Alois Carigiet, Augusto Giacometti, Bernhard Luginbühl and Albert Manser for your enjoyment: the love of art is just one of our essential hotel traditions. International art phenomena such as Julian Schnabel and Andy Warhol are also represented. No surprise, then, that original works of art by such renowned artists attract guests from all over the world.

We should perhaps add that our historic hotel is worth visiting just for its artistic connections: one keen visitor was German author Thomas Mann who, along with his family, made Lake Zurich his permanent home; the founder of psychoanalysis, C.G. Jung, was another guest at the hotel. Of course, you don’t need to be a celebrity to enjoy art; when all’s said and done, the object of art is, quite simply, pleasure.
